The Client – Lane 7
Known for its bowling, bar and entertainment venues across the UK and Europe, Lane7 is a leisure and hospitality brand that combines late-night club energy with social, adult-focused activities. Their venues often feature highly designed, low-lit spaces with minimal visual distractions, keeping the focus on the experience.
The team approached us to design and manufacture a universal cup holder capable of securely holding a wide range of glassware, from tumblers to wine and cocktail glasses, while maintaining a minimalist design to minimise visual disruption.
The brief
Lane7 required a single cup holder design that could accommodate multiple glass types used across their venues.
The solution needed to securely hold different shapes and sizes while maintaining consistency across all locations. Durability and ease of use were essential to ensure suitability for a high traffic hospitality environment.
Our Approach
We developed the design through multiple prototypes, refining the dimensions and structure to ensure each glass type was securely supported.
Each version focused on improving stability and fit across different glass shapes, making controlled adjustments until a universal solution was achieved.
Using 3D printing allowed us to quickly produce and test each version, ensuring the final design met all functional requirements before moving into production.
The Outcome
The final cup holder design was successfully rolled out across Lane7 venues in the UK and overseas, serving as a universal, wall-mounted cup holder designed to integrate into their environments with minimal visual disruption.
The design now acts as a repeatable model, enabling Lane7 to deliver a consistent experience across sites without visual disruption. As Lane7 continues to expand, we’re excited to support them in delivering innovative, practical solutions that sit seamlessly within their highly considered spaces.
