The Client – NetFM
Created by NetFM, a UK based software development company, Nunu-xo is an AI powered desktop companion designed to assist users with everyday tasks.
The team approached us to develop and manufacture the outer shell that would house the screen and internal components, taking the product from early concept stages through to full production.
The brief
Providing detailed sketches and a wooden prototype, NetFM tasked us with converting the concept into a precise, manufacturable 3D file and physical product.
Accuracy and consistency were fundamental to ensure the final product aligned seamlessly with the hardware requirements. Having already generated anticipation during their launch phase, achieving an exact colour match was also integral to maintaining brand consistency.
Our Approach
We began by reverse engineering the wooden prototype, using our 3D scanning service to capture and translate the physical form into a precise CAD model. This process ensured every contour and detail was accurately digitised, creating a scalable, production ready file.
To achieve a flush fit for the integrated screen, our production team collaborated with NetFM through staged prototype testing, refining tolerances and validating alignment at each phase.
All 10 launch colourways were carefully colour matched and validated to maintain alignment with Pre-launch visuals.
The Outcome
Once approved, we moved into production across all 10 colours, delivering housings ready for assembly.
The refined 3D CAD file, developed from the original scan data and precision adjustments, now serves as a repeatable master model, capable of being scaled or re-run for future production.
